Ginger Griego de Olivarez has been a potter for nearly twenty years. She took her first pottery class in Evanston, IL where she threw her first cylinder and made her first lidded jar. In 1999 Ginger moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she completed a BFA with an emphasis in ceramics. While in New Mexico Ginger has participated in firing the University of New Mexico’s Japanese style wood fire kiln and completed a ceramic mural for the Albuquerque Community Schools. The most recent incarnation of her work is a reflection of her travels in Thailand, Belize, Guatemala, Vietnam and Grenada. It is bright, whimsical and has a world flavor.
